FAQ

How can I watch a Twitch VOD without a subscription?

Copy the VOD URL from Twitch, paste it into NoSub, and click play. When the replay is still available from Twitch, NoSub opens it in a clean browser player with synced chat.

Does this Twitch VOD player show the chat?

Yes! NoSub fetches the original recorded chat messages and replays them in sync with the video timeline so you don't miss the chat's reactions.

Can I download a Twitch VOD without a subscription?

NoSub provides the direct link to the raw video stream (M3U8 / MP4). You can use tools like VLC or FFmpeg to stream or download the video files directly.

Why won't a Twitch VOD load?

Twitch VODs do not stay online forever, so a failure usually means the recording is gone rather than a NoSub problem. Standard past broadcasts expire after 7 to 60 days depending on the channel; highlights and exported videos stay longer. Check the link on twitch.tv, try another quality, and reload — NoSub reads the stream directly from Twitch and cannot play a VOD that Twitch has already deleted.

What is the difference between a VOD, a replay and a clip?

A VOD (video on demand) is the full recording of a past Twitch stream; a replay just means watching that VOD after the live broadcast. A clip is a short excerpt — a few seconds to a minute — made from the stream to share a moment. NoSub plays full Twitch VODs and clips, and lets you create your own clips from a VOD.

How long do Twitch VODs stay available?

Twitch keeps past broadcasts for 7 days for most channels, 14 days for Affiliates and Partners, and up to 60 days with Twitch Turbo or Prime — after that they are removed automatically. Highlights and uploads have no expiry. Since NoSub keeps no copy and reads only Twitch's public sources, an expired VOD can no longer be played.
