Privacy Policy

NoSub does not require an account and limits the data it needs. Personal lists stay in your browser, but the service also processes pseudonymous usage and playback data on its server.

What we store, and where

Your watch history, favorites, bookmarks and playback progress are saved in this browser's local storage on this device; they are not synced to NoSub. Clearing browser data removes them. You can export or import them yourself from the app.

Usage and playback measurement

NoSub requires no account. During use, it sets a first-party technical cookie (up to 400 days) and processes navigation and playback events: page category/path without query parameters, device type, language, broad browser/OS, traffic source/referrer host and campaign tags, approximate country/region/city supplied by Cloudflare, and events such as streamer-search counts, playback starts/watch time/errors, and download or clip actions. Browser/session identifiers and VOD references are transformed into keyed hashes before being saved. The analytics database does not store raw IP addresses, full referrer URLs or raw User-Agent strings. A channel search sends the text needed to return results; the analytics event records the search action, not the typed term. For completed searches, NoSub may also aggregate the platform and whether results were returned; it does not store the channel name or search term.

Retention and live audience data

Detailed event rows are deleted after 120 days, once aggregated. Pseudonymous visitor/session records and some aggregates do not currently have the same automatic expiry. The live audience view temporarily keeps the active VOD URL/title, playback state/time, pseudonymous viewer identity and approximate location in server memory; it is removed when the session leaves or no later than 150 seconds after its last heartbeat. Coordinates used for this view are not stored in the database. A separate popularity file stores public VOD URL, title, channel, thumbnail and aggregate view count for up to 1,000 VODs; it is not linked to viewer identifiers and has no automatic expiry at present.

Feedback and published clips

If you send feedback, NoSub stores the message, optional email address, page URL, platform, playback time, language, browser User-Agent, app version and limited diagnostics such as screen size and time zone in a support database. Feedback has no automatic expiry in the current app and may be forwarded to configured email or Discord notification services. A random private code lets you check its status later: the server stores only a one-way hash of the code, and the lookup reveals only the status and an update explicitly written for the reporter, never the original message or email. If you publish a clip, its public record includes the source VOD URL, platform, title, streamer details, thumbnail, clip start/duration and creation date; anyone with its link can view it. The deletion key is stored as a hash. Clip records remain until deleted or older records are evicted when the 3,000-record limit is reached. Contact contact@nosubapp.com about a data request.

Third-party services

Requests pass through Cloudflare, which processes network data and provides approximate location. Video, chat and some assets come from Kick, Twitch and CDNs. The app also displays third-party advertising. These providers may process request or media data under their own terms and privacy policies.
